Validation - Operational Qualification (O.Q.)
OQ is performed against the System Functional Specifications. It follows the completion of IQ and is performed to ensure that
the system and equipment consistently and routinely perform according to the functional specifications and pre-determined acceptance
criteria.
Some of the items included in execution of the Operation Qualification are:
- Test whether PLC reads inputs and controls outputs based on the program logic
- Test whether alarms are raised during utility failures or when critical parameters are outside of predetermined ranges
- Test whether the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Configuration is operational
