Ethylene Oxide Sterilization - Sterility Verification
Biological indicators are employed to verify the effectiveness of the sterilization process on a product. The biological indicators
are placed strategically around the product and, after the sterilization cycle is complete, are placed in a culture medium which is
specifically designed to promote the growth of harmful bacteria. The sterilization cycle can be validated as effective if it is observed
that the indicators have been killed and no further growth occurs.
