Gamma Sterilization Design Criteria

During the sterilization process, a PLC is used to control an Irradiator which treats various products using gamma radiation. Product that is processed through the irradiator is tracked at various stations using a combination of hardware and software subsystems.

Before product can be processed, specific processing information (such as weight, density, dosage etc.) is entered into the system. After product is received, it is scheduled for processing, weighed, and then loaded into a carrier which circles product around the Irradiator according to entered specifications.
